{"id":3975,"date":"2021-04-06T12:54:30","date_gmt":"2021-04-06T17:54:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.incredigeek.com\/home\/?p=3975"},"modified":"2021-04-06T12:54:31","modified_gmt":"2021-04-06T17:54:31","slug":"unifi-video-service-failing-to-start","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.incredigeek.com\/home\/unifi-video-service-failing-to-start\/","title":{"rendered":"UniFi-Video Service failing to Start"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Do note that the UniFi-Video software is no longer supported should be migrated to the UniFi Protect systems.  <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Running &#8220;systemctl status unifi-video&#8221; gives the following error.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">(unifi-video) checking for system.properties and truststore files\u2026<br>\u2026fail!<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>It appears that the error is due to an unsupported version of Java.  Installing an older version of Java resolves the issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can check which versions of Java are available with <\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">apt-cache show openjdk-8-jre<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>The versions that showed up for me were <\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">8u282-b08-0ubuntu1\n8u252-b09-1ubuntu1 <\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Installing the last one fixed the issue for now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">sudo apt-get install openjdk-8-jre-headless=8u252-b09-1ubuntu1<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/old.reddit.com\/r\/Ubiquiti\/comments\/l30jm5\/unifi_video_31013_not_compatible_with_openjdk_180\/\">https:\/\/old.reddit.com\/r\/Ubiquiti\/comments\/l30jm5\/unifi_video_31013_not_compatible_with_openjdk_180\/<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do note that the UniFi-Video software is no longer supported should be migrated to the UniFi Protect systems.
